feeling a bit… blah.

I’ve been juggling a lot these past few weeks & it’s starting to grate on me when I’m too wound up at the end of the day to sit & knit for a while. It’s been 3 days since I’ve knit. (Sounds like confessional, no?)

My morning alarm clock is my sweet little boy cat. He lets me know when his dish needs filling & his window needs to be opened so he can inspect his domain. After he’s been fed, I get to feed myself.

I’m extremely fond of fuyu persimmons, and this is the time of year when they are in season. I’ll typically have one or two for breakfast, when I have some, with either tea or a latte. It feels like something very special & I tend to treat it that way. It makes for a pleasant start to each day, and it tends to slide downhill from there. Being busy & running around – or worse, not running around but being chained to my desk & computer – is sapping my creative energy.

I’m going to try to knit some more tonight. We’ll see how it goes.

  1. Persimmons are one of the things I miss most about living in NY, the nice lady at my corner Korean used to save me some of the best….hidden out back…mmmm lovely memory!

  2. Yes, the availability of all manner of exotic goodies really does help offset some of the crummier aspects of living here. I used to buy them at the local greengrocer too, but now I get the at Costco in bulk, so I have some extra to play around with. My DH has been dying to try cooking with them & today he made persimmon puree in the blender – it congealed like aspic! I’m thinking of serving it this year instead of cranberry sauce.

Sorry, I hope this isn’t driving you to distraction!
